Bold Jazzmaster for Bass VI

Based on our ThickMaster for Jazzmasters this one has a thick, chocolatty growl that agrees with bass. Our Zero-Hum Jazzmaster pickups have risen to become the number one Go-To noise solutions for Jazzmaster and the same goes for these.

The thick, chocolatty growl imparts a desirable presence and the lively dynamics sound good for conventional bass sounds as well as modern virtuoso tap, slap and smack sounds.

However there are other choices in the Jazzmaster section such as FatMaster and SurfMaster. Tell us which one you'd love to have in the Notes box on the Order Form.

** Alnico-K is a unique proprietary rod magnet developed by Kinman in 1985. It is Alnico-5 but has 40% less string pull than Alnico-5 so sustain is longer and there is much less clatter from string crash and no Strat-itis string warble.

Kinman pickups for Jazzmaster are direct replacements and no modification to the guitar is required.

Number of parts in regular single coil: 11
Number of parts in other brand noiseless: There are no other noiseless Jazzmaster pickups with Alnico rod magnets. Kinman is the only one and that makes it the coolest Jazzmaster pickup available.

Cavity depth

12mm (1/2") standard cavity depth, plenty of height adjustment.

Connection means available

Single wires for soldering.
also available with Kinman connectors for plugging into a Kinman Strat, Tele or KHP-90 Goodbye-Soldering Harness.
- We can make harness for some Jazzmasters upon request.

Hook-up cable

3 single hook-up wires, color coded and facilitate phase reversing.
Cut generously longer than necessary for the 2 stock Jazzmaster positions. neck 37cm & 32cm bridge.
Custom lengths by request with Order.

Output Polarity:

in-phase with Gibson and Copy humbuckers.
in-phase with all other Kinman pickups.
opposite phase to Fender.
- Can be phase reversed to match that of Fender pickups.

Pot & Capacitor values

500k Ohm or original Fender 1 Meg for Volume & Tone is recommended. 250k volume pot compromises the dynamic feel to an extent.
Tone pot is usually the same value as the volume pot.
Normal tone cap value of 0.022uF / 63 ~ 100 volt. Smaller value lessen the severity of Treble cut and requires some experimentation.

Magnet spreads

52mm, 50mm & 47.5mm depending on type of bridge.
- Narrow versions incorporate our unique Coil Spread Compensation Technology (CSCT)

Normal improved Stagger to suit 7 ~ 14 inch uniform radius fretboards including USA Custom Guitar Compound 7-1/4" ~ 9-1/2
Flat Stagger for specific compound radius fretboards (eg Warmoth 10 ~ 16 inch compound and Fender Deluxe Compound Radius)

With and without Kinman logo.
Original Fender covers are suitable only for 52mm magnet spread, NOT for our 50mm and 47.5mm neck magnet spreads.
Aged White and Cream covers without magnet holes are available on eBay.

We highly recommend consulting the Install Guide in Tech Info even if you think you know it all. Kinmans' require specialized knowledge and sometimes there is updated info.

Hi Joe!

I've just plugged in the guitar which sports the Little Rippers and Little Terror trio and my jaw dropped! As a matter of fact, I believe it's still lying on the floor, next to the amp!

I think calling them transparent is an understatement: I've put them in a G# tuned baritone I've just finished, and despite the fact that it's a very low tuning, there's no mud at all! They speak with an authoritative presence, yet they reproduce every nuance of my playing, in all registers, from the lowest of lows to the higher mids! I feel this guitar sounds tremendous acoustically speaking, and these pickups carry that clarity and rich, bold sound to the amp like nobody's business! I'm in awe!

And this is from a guy who plays clean, with his fingers: if they're that damn good with a loud clear tone, I can only imagine how massive they must sound with all shades of gain added! You should hear that low G#: it's thunderous! Yet, it doesn't dominate over the other strings: each can be clearly heard, is well defined and sits pperfectly with the others!

Again, you guys have knocked it out of the park, these pickups sound awesome and look awesome! I just love that diminutive, unassuming little size... talk about punching way above their weight!

And, above all, they're an awful lot of fun to play! They hardly need any EQ at all, you plug them in, and let loose!
